There is only four weeks left of the semester which, also means there is only four weeks left of my college career at Suffolk. I still haven't fully felt the extent of graduation. I am very excited for graduation because I want my degree that I've worked so hard for these past four years.
Unfortunately, I heard back from Northeastern and I ended up being waitlisted. Which doesn't mean a rejection which means I still have a chance. I still haven't heard back from Springfield College which is making me a little anxious because I seriously just wanted to know if I got in or not. This brings be back to applying to schools when I was a Senior in High school, I am just anxious and on the edge of my seat waiting by the mail box for my letters.
Well I have nothing else to really share so keep your fingers crossed on my acceptances and blog you later!!!

Spring Break
I am so happy that it's Spring Break right now, despite the fact that I am not on a beach some where soaking up the sun. I was a little upset that I didn't have any where to go, last Spring Break I went to Puerto Rico and the Break before that I went to North Carolina. So it's kind of a bummer but I am still relaxing which is nice. I'm staying at the dorms for part of the break and then I am going to visit the fam for the last couple of days. It's actually pretty awesome to be the only one on the floor because it's quiet. Being an RA has it's moments in which you are always surrounded by people, so it's nice not having people around all the time.
I'm also becoming very anxious, some of my friends are now and have been getting their acceptance letters from their Grad Schools. I still haven't heard back and I've only applied to two Grad Schools. I thought that I might have limited myself but these are the schools that were of interest to me. I hope to hear back SOOOONNNNN!!!!
Other than that small bit of news nothing else is really going on besides...there being ONLY FIVE WEEKS LEFT OF THE SEMESTER THEN GRADUATION!!!! Well that's it for now, I'll keep you posted.
Peace!!!

IT'S BEEN A MONTH
Well it's been a little over a month since I've last blogged. I've had a lot going on these past couple of weeks. Two weeks ago I had an all day interview at Northeastern for a grad program. I have to admit I got a little lost when I got to the campus but I managed to get myself to the interview. Northeastern's campus is HUGE!! Suffolk has about 6 or 7 buildings but Northeastern has over 30. It was a little overwhelming but I know after a couple of weeks I would be able to adjust.
I am going through a Senioristis epidemic. I am just ready to graduate and begin that next phase of my life. I have found my niche at Suffolk and the past four years have went through a growing phase. My professors have challenged me to expand on what I already know and to constantly learn something different. I've been involved by being an RA, OL, SU101 TA and a Trustee Ambassador. I love Suffolk but I am ready for a new change.
Well I've got to go because I have a Bruins game to go to.
PEACE!!!

Another week in my life
So it's February and so far this month is starting off at a fast pace, which is great. I am absolutely looking forward to Spring break, because I just want to go some place nice and warm, don't know where yet, but I'll figure something out.
I've been working on Grad school stuff, such as filling out applications for fellowships and of course financial aid. Exciting Stuff!!! I've only applied to two schools and so it's a little nerve racking because I don't have a fall back plan if I don't get into either of them, but let's not think that way.
I'm starting to feel that Senioritis, I am just looking forward to the semester to being over and moving onto the next phase of my life. I haven't slacked in my work so that's not the problem, I just want to get through the semester, I'm ready to go and be in the real world or Grad School. I don't share in most people's anxiety over graduating college, I just can't wait to start something new.
Well thats all for now bloggers. Next time I'll hopefully have more interesting and exciting news to share.
PEACE OUT!!!

It's the Weekend!!!
So yesterday was my 23rd Birthday, and honestly it was pretty much what ever. You see 21 is the magic number for most and each year after your 21st is eh. Today was my second day at my internship and I didn't realize that there are places out there that really follow casual Friday. Some people were in jeans and I showed up in my Sunday best. I still haven't met the Senator because she has been out in her district attending meetings but I hope to meet her soon. Some of the committees such as the children and families and the higher ed committee are the two that I want to know more about.
On other news I am very excited that it's Friday because this week flew by which means this semester will fly by. I want this semester to be over because I want to graduate, I'm just eager to move on and something new. I finally completed my applications for Grad School and so now I am waiting on finding out when I can schedule interviews and such. So keep your fingers crossed, hopefully I can't into them and then from there decide which school to go to.

Barack Obama Day!!!
Today, my professor canceled class so that those who wanted to watch the inauguration would be able to. I decided to join a couple of friends at the Cafe in Miller Hall and together we witnessed history being made. I was amazed over the crowds that gathered around the Capital, it was reported that close to 1.5 million people attended the inauguration. I was so jealous for those 1.5 million, because I wish that I wasn't watching it on T.V, but rather I wished I was there in person, sharing the same emotions and excitement those 1.5 million people were experiencing. His speech I felt was powerful, he vocalized his passion for change as well as he expressed the need for the people to come together and help bring about this change. It's understood, that, change cannot be made over nigh, nor should we expect for there to be a drastic change in the next for years, but little are also very important and honestly I feel confident in President Obama and I look optimistic to the future.
To try and pull myself away from this rant let's move onto other news. So Grad School, I have only applied to two schools: Northeastern and Springfield College because to be honest those are the only schools I was interested in. Both schools from what I've heard have a great program for Student Affairs which are also counseling based. So hopefully and fingers crossed I get into both schools but the tough decision is knowing which school I want to go to.
So I started my internship at the State House yesterday which was awesome. The State House it such a confusing place to try find your away around. I got lost trying to get out of the building. Seeing as how it was only the first week I didn't didn't do a lot but once I've been there for a couple of weeks im sure things will pick up. The Senator that I work for is the chair of about 7 committees and so those hearings will start happening and I am excited to sit in on some of them. Working in this type of environment such as the State House is a completely new experience which I feel as though will be worth while.

A New Year, New Semester, and my last Semester!
So my break was awesome, I got some much needed RandR, went to NYC and saw Avenue Q for only 21 dollars, and had a great New Years. Now it's back to classes, Residents, and a new internship.
I still can't believe that this is my last semester and the weird thing is I am ready to graduate. Some people that I know are freaking out about graduating but I'm ready. I have had the best experience in the four years that I've attended Suffolk but it's time to move on and I am ready for that next step, which will be Graduate School. For now, I decided that I am only applying to two schools which is Northeastern and Springfield College, which both schools have an excellent program for Student Affairs.
Next week I will be starting my new internship at the State House, which I will be working with Senator Spilka, I am pretty pumped about it. It's going to be such a great experience and it will look great on my resume. The only thing I am not use to is having to get dressed up, and I mean the shirt, tie, and dress pants but it's a professional setting and so it's worth the experience.
So again, Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
